Neighbourhood Profile: Falkensee
Pure nature: Falkensee is set in a unique environment
-
- Wiesenstraße
Falkensee directly borders on the Berlin district of Spandau.
Forests, lakes and fields alternate. The extensive forests are especially inviting for joggers and walkers. But the Falkenhagener See lake gives a vacation-like atmosphere and those who love the water have a good time at the forest swimming pool. Over the years, Falkensee has developed into its own urban quarter with a lot of charm. With many streets now traffic-reduced, the children can play without danger in front of where they live, while their parents can enjoy their leisure time on the terrace.
Despite the quiet village-like atmosphere, Falkensee is well developed. Drivers can get to Falkensee most quickly via the B5 motorway. But you can also reach Falkensee with public transport from Berlin’s main railway station in just 25 minutes. The buses within Falkensee and going into Berlin allow for quick trips, although the local schools, supermarkets, recreational facilities and numerous sports complexes almost make going into the city centre superfluous. For shopping there is the Havelpark Dallgow shopping centre. The rows of shops on Spandauer Strasse can be reached by car in just a few minutes.
degewo manages 134 flats in this popular part of town. For seniors the Parkstadt Falkensee retirement home offers upscale and independent living – with supervision and assistance if necessary.
